  • Daily Moisture: Keep your braids hydrated by using a spray bottle with a custom mix of water and leave-in conditioner. Lightly mist the braids and focus on the ends to maintain luster and flexibility.

  • Detangle with Care: Use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to gently separate curls as needed. Avoid excessive pulling or brushing.

  • Night Routine: Before bed, part your braids into sections and twist them loosely. Cover your style every night with a silk braid bonnet and satin scarf to reduce friction, frizz, and dryness while you sleep.

      After applying, roll the ends on flexi rods and allow them to dry completely. The longer they set, the longer your curls will last.

  • Tame Frizz: As your cornrows begin to frizz over time, refresh them by applying an anti-frizz setting mousse such as Braid Formula Setting Mousse, followed by a holding spritz like Pump It Up Styling Spritz or Fantasia Liquid Mousse Spritz.

    • After applying, tie your hair down with a scarf and let it set for 10–15 minutes. Once dry, remove the scarf for a smooth, sleek finish, no frizz in sight.

Washing & Cleansing

  • Cleanse the scalp & hair every 2 weeks

  • Follow with a lightweight leave-in conditioner.

  • Allow hair to air dry completely before styling.

Swimming

  • Saturate hair with clean water before entering a pool or saltwater.

  • Rinse thoroughly immediately after swimming.

  • Apply a leave-in conditioner to restore moisture.

Preserving Reusable Hair

To ensure your Miracle Knots hair can be reused for future appointments:

  • Never cut the curls during removal.

  • Carefully unbraid each section.

  • Thoroughly cleanse and detangle the hair before storing.

  • Store hair in a satin bag or sealed container until your next appointment.

Your at-home routine plays the most important role in how long your braids last. Consistent moisturizing, gentle handling, and wearing a silk or satin bonnet every night will keep your style neat, hydrated, and looking freshly done for weeks.

2. Environmental Factors

Climate and weather exposure can influence how well your braids hold up. Humidity often causes frizz, while prolonged sun or heat exposure can dry out the hair. When possible, protect your style from harsh conditions and refresh it with lightweight moisturizing sprays to retain softness and shine.

3. Activity Level

Your daily habits and level of activity also affect your style’s longevity. Frequent exercise or high levels of sweating can cause buildup and loosen the braids more quickly. Regular scalp cleansing and maintenance will help your style remain fresh even with an active lifestyle.
